Farah Namazie

Farah has worked in the field of Intellectual Property & Technology law since her call to the Singapore Bar in 1991. She left private practice to work as in house counsel for Apple Computer Inc. where she worked on a range of technology law issues, including complex software licensing and outsourcing projects. She returned to private practice and in 2001 founded Namazie & Co., where she has since been involved comprehensively in the practice of Intellectual Property & Technology law. She represents and works closely with many international clients to develop and maintain their IPR portfolios, with a particular focus on IP protection and IP transactional work.

A graduate of Oxford University, she obtained a Masters in Intellectual Property & Commercial law from the University of London, and qualified as a Barrister of Lincoln’s Inn before returning to Singapore to start a career in Intellectual Property law. Farah has published and lectured on IP & Technology law internationally. She is a member of Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), International Trademark Association (INTA), Association of Singapore Patent Attorneys (ASPA), European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA) and the ASEAN IPA and is a registered Patent Agent in Singapore.

Glendoris R Ocampo

Glendoris Ocampo manages our clients’ Patents & Design portfolios. She has comprehensive experience in both domestic and PCT patent applications. Her practice includes conducting preliminary prior art searches for potential patents, strategizing optimal patent protection and filing routes, drafting of patent specifications, filing and processing patent and design applications, both locally and internationally. Glen is also experienced in trademark applications and oppositions and handled some of the larger trademark portfolios of clients from the entertainment, property and hospitality services.

Prior to embarking on a specialized career as an Intellectual Property professional, Glendoris worked as a Legal Researcher in a full service law firm in the Philippines, which provided her with a background in other areas of the law. She graduated from the University of San Carlos, Cebu, Philippines in 2003 with a Degree in Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting. She later pursued further studies and graduated from the University of San Jose-Recoletos, Cebu, Philippines in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law. Glen is married, with a daughter, and outside of work does community volunteer work with outreach and catechism programs.

Katherine Kan

Katherine Kan is a Managing Associate with the Firm and advises our clients on trademark protection, copyright enforcement and data protection matters. Her practice includes structuring and advising on commercial transactions that involve intellectual property. Katherine’s practice also includes the drafting and negotiating of various commercial contracts, such as licensing agreements, services agreements, distribution agreements and sponsorship agreements. She has worked with international conglomerates and domestic SMEs from various industries, such as food & beverage, real estate, entertainment, hospitality, education, manufacturing, publishing, fashion, retail and information technology. She has also published several articles on IP and Technology law internationally and domestically.

Katherine graduated from the University of Warwick with a Bachelor’s degree in Law, and has been called to the Singapore Bar. She is currently pursuing a degree in Master of Science in Intellectual Property Management at the National University of Singapore. As a Taiwanese, Katherine is fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and is able to conduct business and communicate effectively with our clients in China and Taiwan. Outside of work, Katherine enjoys playing music and travelling. Katherine is also an avid rock climber and scuba diver.

Khoo Lih-Han

Khoo Lih-Han is a Legal Associate with the Firm. He holds a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the Singapore Management University (SMU) and a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) with a minor in Technopreneurship degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS), during which he was selected to work with a technological start-up and also study entrepreneurship-related modules at the prestigious Tsinghua University (清华大学) in Beijing. Lih-Han interned at PapayaMobile, a mobile technology company, responsible for three mobile products: AppFlood, a programmatic mobile advertising platform, Papaya Games, a mobile games development studio, and Kiwi Calendar, a calendar app for mobile and web users.

After graduating, Lih-Han worked at NUS as a research engineer dealing with heat transfer technology applied to various machinery and equipment ranging from military applications to household appliances.

Lih-Han is proficient in English, Chinese and the Hokkien dialect. During his leisure time, he enjoys swimming and hiking at Singapore’s nature reserves.

Hisyam Azman

Hisyam Azman is a trainee with the Firm. He obtained a Bachelors of Law from the University of Southampton where he read Intellectual Property Law and wrote a dissertation on the impact of compulsory licensing on EU database protection law. He has a Masters in International Commercial Law from University College London and has also been called to the New York Bar. Prior to joining the Firm, Hisyam worked in a corporate consultancy firm where he handled high value commercial transactions for both local and international clients.

In his leisure time, Hisyam is a fitness enthusiast who enjoys weightlifting, has completed a number of marathons and is a PADI certified rescue diver.

May Ong

May Ong is the Firm’s Relationship Manager. Ensuring our clients are satisfied and maintaining close relations with them is important to our Firm. With her many years of corporate experience, May oversees the smooth running of our operations, including our client relations, billing and accounting functions. Externally, she is a key liaison for clients. Internally, May is a highly efficient trouble-shooter and the go-to person who manages to “fix” problems which our lawyers can’t.
